When The Museum School needed a hands-on learning space that blended seamlessly into nature, we stepped in to design and build an addition to their outdoor classroom. It’s now a vibrant gathering space where education and environment meet.
We began by removing an old fence that no longer served the space well, replacing it with a new, clean-lined perimeter to help define the area and create a safe, welcoming environment. At the heart of the space is a custom wooden deck that doubles as a stage, perfect for group lessons, student performances, or quiet reading under the trees.
Surrounding the classroom, we installed fresh plantings that bring color, texture, and life to the area, helping students feel more connected to the natural world as they learn and explore.
This project was a great example of how thoughtful design can support both education and outdoor engagement. We’re proud to help create spaces where students and teachers can gather, learn, and grow outside the four walls of a traditional classroom.
If your school or organization is dreaming up an outdoor space, Lawn Capital would love to help bring it to life.
